Graffiti; pros and cons

Graffiti, writing or drawings scribbled, scratched, or sprayed illicitly on a wall or other surface in a public place. There are many different kind of graffiti. There are graffiti artist, which art shows some political and social messages in various streets in cities around the world. Then there is gang graffiti and graffiti taggers which those are the ones that are the ones that are illegal. For example salvatrucha a gang that is very dangerous is famous for its graffiti.Gang graffiti is another genre political in nature but only deals with the politics related to gangs. Such graffiti is meant to recognize allies and enemies, mark territory, or indicate group membership. Gang graffiti, along with other political graffiti, is sometimes performed in cryptic codes to be recognized only by certain people. Several gangs do the same leaving their initials or gang names tagged in bridges, trains, buildings and billboards. Even tough graffiti artist leave their art in the same places as the other kind of graffiti, it doesn’t mean that their the same.

Street Art was done with a smile, Graffiti Tagging was done with a scowl, just summed up the whole deal with graffiti. Street Art adorns the urban landscape with all of its amazing art work. Graffiti Tagging scars it and accelerates urban decay, with all the scribbles and lines. Graffiti is a master piece, depending in the way you see it. For example the famous Banksy once when into a famous art gallery and hang his own art work into the gallery, his a sneaky man.

After watching “Exit through the gift shop” by Banksy. I was very entertained and informed watching the exciting life of a graffiti artist during the day and night. Seeing also how secret they keep their identity, well of course they must hide it since they have conscious of the illegal crime their doing.

Graffiti is gang affiliated is what some people say but its’ really not. Graffiti is what you view of it and how you feel about it. Graffiti is something that expresses people’s emotions or messages that they want to show to the public. i dont know why some citizens get so mad for the graffiti its not tattooed on them, so what are they fuzzing about is what i ask myself. I believe that graffiti is not made to disturb or to create a crime, instead its made for attraction and a message to the world. I ask you is Graffiti art or crime?

Bansky- peace graffiti

Banksy.

Painting by banksy, a little boy putting a flower in to the gun of a soldier. To me this painting describes that their must be peace. Knowing that their is so Many wars going on. This painting can be found from London’s to buenos aires, it also represents the rioters need for peace by throwing flowers and not Molotov cocktail tails. It is created since the 1960’s was filled with riots. I think that this was in banksy’s head when thinking of creating the painting. I really like this painting it has an amazing meaning that can be talked about to the world. Seeing all this wars going on and so many crisis, the world needs to realize that peace is the most needed thing, next to love. Knowing that this painting can be seen in all over the world is amazing, knowing that bansky travels all over the world to spread his message.

Exit threw the gift shop

This movie was confusing. At first I thought it was directed by “mr. Brainwash” but the. I figured it out that it was all banksy. Seeing how street art is to viewed and realizing that it doesn’t look so criminal. Is most seen to me, that for the artist is just like a passion that takes over them. If Terry had made directed the movie it would of been a disaster, luckily banksy took over it. I doesn’t seem like if banksy is a criminal if people would pay for his amazing creations. When he gave terry the advice to make art and become a street artist, terry took his advice to seriously and grew to fast into the business of street art. When he start street art other artist had already open galleries, and he want to be already at the same level.
What I think that the movie is saying about modern art is that it is so insipid. Not everyone wants modern they want better and new, that is what banksy creates and shows the world. That is what street artist do. For example on the movie it showed paintings of modern paintings but re-done,they weren’t exactly the same they where different the the originals. Some street artist like Thierry Photoshop another pictures and calls it piece of work, but it’s isn’t that amazing if you have seen it before just differently. There was one of Thierry’s with Elvis, before it he was holding a guitar but when Thierry Photoshop it, he was holding a gun. In conclusion, this movie was not bad it was really interesting funny, and realistic.

Miss Representation: review

This movie explains  and summaries high school girls.  Being a former  high school girl, and experimenting everyday life in high school, girls are always focused on being pretty and covering their face with all that make up. I agree with the documentary, “you can’t be what you can’t see” since theirs no powerful women in the media then you can’t be able to be one. About 65% of American women and girls have an eating disorder, because they want to look just like models. Something seen in high school is also depression. Rates of depression are the same among boys and girls until puberty but twice as many women are diagnosed with depression post-puberty .

Watching how the women created film just to prepare her daughter for the modern world, and trying to learn to protect her. She interviewed many young girls and women about how women are being shown threw the media. Talking about how women are not so powerful threw media, in the other hand most of the man have more power in the media, but why can’t c.e.o woman aren’t represented for there brain not their beauty.  In my opinion think many people should not judge the appearance of woman. There are many powerful women that are not media famous, and many girls are not able to admire them. A reason that some of those politician woman or journalist are not so media famous is because they dont have what the media wants.

In the video It spoke Of how some girls Feel about how the media shows most Females. Many girls think that what its More important is not the appearance but the brains. I agree, because what the media is doing to girls is making them sick mentally and physically. This Movie spoke to me and informed me of how the media judges women and how they have to be perfect.

“The decline of newspapers has been good for everybody else.”

From reading both arguments, ” the decline of newspapers has been good for everybody else” is a better argument. In the first argument ” are we living in the golden age of journalism?” Argues how even though newspapers are dead for writers but the lives of the readers have become a golden age. She, the writer, explains how the news was back then was, saying that the newspaper should’ve had been called the “add paper”. During the passage the writer explains how not even newspapers have shrunk also TV series have. She is explaining how the media and technology are good for society.

In the article “The decline of newspapers has been good for everybody else” technology has hurt newspaper business. In the article it also speaks about how back then there was no such thing as Craigslist so people had to post on newspapers, job offers and any other kind of news needed to show. It also explains how technology has affected many other business.”manufacturing workers have spent the last generation becoming accustomed to the rise of robots that do their jobs”. According to both articles that have been read, the most affected one was “. The decline of newspapers has been good for everybody else”. Reading and knowing how technology can effect more than just business, it can also affect how people change their options about print news or just media news. What do you consider your self a media or a print news person? It’s crazy because knowing that technology is going to be more advance, people would soon forget about newspapers.

One page: inside the New York Times

News has played a small amount in my life. I don’t spend a lot of time watching or reading the news. I would only consult the news if it was school work or if I’m interested in a current event. I don’t believe that I have a good understanding of what’s going on around the world. Considering that I always use technology for homework I can understand that I would use the devices a lot. I don’t use or read newspaper, to be honest I didn’t even know that people still read the newspaper, it would soon disappear and newspaper companies would go bankrupt and what would become of them? In the movie One Page: Inside the New York Times, New York Times was in a close bankrupt. Having technology become an enemy to print news and loosing readers, that no longer have time to stop and pay for the print news.
